Hi, I’m Kella! Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I’m autistic, as well as having sensory processing disorder and auditory processing disorder. I created Awakened Neurodivergence, in the hopes of becoming America’s Next Top Model…wait…just kidding(that’s how I finished it in my head, so I rolled with it–prepare for tangents and bad humor on this blog). Ha. Seriously though, I’m here because I believe with every fiber of my being in the power of community, and that this world needs a greater deal of understanding and acceptance for those of us who are neurodivergent. I want to offer a small bit of insight into my own autistic world, while hopefully helping to support some people in their neurodiverse journeys along the way.
A bit more about me…I’m a mom to B, wife, artist/textile designer, death doula, and dark chocolate connoisseur. I love spending time with my family, hiking, kayaking, learning about cultural practices(especially death-related practices and rituals) & herbal medicine, and creating art in my spare time. I also have a soft spot for loose leaf tea, all furry creatures, thunderstorms, indie folk music, being barefoot, and did I mention chocolate? 😉
I have an AA in studio art, a B.S. in psychology, and an M.A. in human services, with a graduate certificate in applied gerontology. I have certifications as a Death Doula/End of Life Planner, & in IEP Coaching, ASL, holistic nutrition, and herbalism. I’m also currently taking courses towards an M.A. in thanatology(death, dying, and grief).
If you need support or resources for your journey, feel free to shoot me a message. ❤
